BELLY
There is not too much said about the belly in the Harlequin Standard In fact, the only
mention is that it may be white. However, many breeders like to see a nice checkerboard
underneath, similar to the picture below. This one is not perfect, but it gives an idea about
what many breeders like to see.
This rabbit has a slightly less distinct checkerboard
on his belly, and the white hindleg quadrant could be
better, but all four quadrants are discernable.
This rabbit has a barred belly instead of a
checkerboard. All four feet alternate correctly (I know it
is hard to tell that the hind feet do in this pic, but they
do). This is not listed as any kind of fault in the
standard, although the simpler, cleaner checkerboard
belly is often preferred by breeders.
