Better vs Worse:
In each of the pics below, the rabbit on the left has better, more correct orange color,
caused by more rufus modifiers.
Blue Japanese Color- the one on the left is ORANGE!
Chocolate Japanese
In the two pics above are lilac japanese.  It is a little harder to see the color on these rabbits, but the ones on the
left are orange, while the ones on the right are more fawn.


NOTE: In the Harlequin SOP both blue and lilac japs are described as fawn, not orange.  At the time the standard
was written, it was believed that the "dilute gene" which makes blues and lilacs also automatically diluted orange
to fawn.  Clearly, you can see in the pics above that this is not always the case; and most breeders like the
deepest, darkest color possible.
